Even if Comrade Asterix is not wholly serious, that advice is spot on. The overall effect of newspapers, and the five minute TV/radio snippets which pass for news, is largely pernicious. IIRC there is some serious clinical research which shows that people who don't 'keep up with the news' are healthier and considerably happier. My advice would be to do something useful instead. Go ride a bike for example. Reading Sunday papers can only lead to feelings of stress, impotence and disappointment. Going for a bike ride OTOH will raise your endorphin levels instead of lowering them.
Totally agree, and that is why I choose to work on Sundays. In 35 years of work, 99% of it has involved shift work. I much prefer to have time off during the week, when you can actually get things done. I can have the back roads and cycle paths to myself too!Sundays are a bit tittle-tattle, no real substance to them.
