To those whom it may apply; hope you are enjoying your heatwave .

For those less fortunate like myself on the less than hot and sunny west coast of Scotland, todays temperature map from the met office makes depressing reading. South East England 26c, west of Scotland 13c. On top of that it's raining heavily . We never ever get even half decent summers any more!!

Look on the bright side, you'll be able to sleep tonight .

So true...... With the central heating on, and a hot water bottle .

Went out cycling on Friday..ended up 5miles into the ride wishing for another layer and full finger gloves..bitter..luckily had put legwarmers on and was wearing a gillet. Today wasn't too bad..as in shorts and jersey but had a base layer ARM warmers and a gillet on until I hit the hills..no need for the ARM warmers and gillet after that..wind been very strong again..at times felt I was cycling in treacle.

It was sweltering on the East coast (relatively speaking, all of ~20C!, the hottest it's been for ages). We even got a bit of sunshine :sun: ... it did attempt to rain every so often but most of it must have stayed further west :rain: ...

We ate more than a kg of freshly picked strawberries :hungry:

I bet it's beautiful up there when the sun is shining though.

Went jogging this afternoon (where's that melting smiley?) Drank two pints of iced recovery drink and a cold can of red stripe before I started to feel ok again.

I was just about to post that I quite fancy a thunderstorm. Not had one for ages.

I love thunderstorms at night. 3 or 4 years ago I was woken by an approaching thunderstorm in the middle of the night, it was heading South, so I quickly drove down to Lee on Solent and watched it roll out over the Solent to the Isle of Wight - amazing!

Like others I was out early, 8:30, and it was cool and cloudy, by the time I got to the Café the cloud had cleared and it was starting to cook, very warm ride home. I've just finished the washing up and I was working up a sweat doing it.

Today's even better :sun: a slight breeze and around 28 degrees. Sitting in the square next to St Paul's right now  might end up going back into the office with a sunburned head at this rate though!
