Down size seems to be the better option then.
It is but it's not always that easy, for us in our area we are currently in a 3 bedroom detached house, to move on the same area which would be the logical thing to get a 2 bedroomed semi detached bungalow we would have to find some money, which defeats the object of doing it.

We are in London, would not mind a move to the country side not to far away, could probably buy bigger, But i would go smaller as long as i could have a bigger workshop,

Bungalows are expensive as they are in high demand from cash rich boomers all looking to downsize.
