Many thanks to our Facilities Team for organising the cleaning of one of the cycle compounds at another site................... please don't jetwash pidgeon poo when there are bikes in there............... got back to a bike covered in PPP (pidgeon poo particals) -even all over the bars and hoods...great..........

Thankfully the staff have stopped feeding a local cat from within there - that attracted the pidgeons.

Hopefully, anti-pidgeon spikes will be put up too - the level of poo in that compound is a health hazard (and has been complained about)....

I hope that the FM people didn't wash to close to the important bearings on your bike  .

Can't see how it would attract any pidgeons unless they were suicidal pidgeons  .

That's disgusting and TBH I think I would have walked to the local shop and got some sort of disinfectant. Pigeon shoot is horrible stuff.

I had a supply of baby wipes (this time) in the pannier to get rid of the crap on the bars........

Previously I've had a 'winged vermin' do a massive albatross sh1t all over one side of the bars and hood - and I'd run out of baby wipes (carry them for a quick wipe down between sites) - that was really horrible - managed to get the sloppy stuff off with paper.

As you say, the crap is full of all sorts of nasty sh1t - very harmful to humans.... The bike has been scrubbed and all my kit, but I'll lodge a polite complaint tomorrow, and copy in our travel plan manager (who I work with on 'other' things - I think he's got the clean up pushed through) It's been a state for a long time, but it's fairly secure for bike parking.....(ish)

They do, but they know what's going on.

I arrived back at bike (after a meeting) with a jet washer in the compound and thought 'sh1t'....... the floor was clean........... but those folk who didn't collect their bike at 11am might not know.............

I know someone who used pigeon poo on her allotment.  She always had the best vegetables.

just don't forget to say that you appreciate the cleaning work or they may start thinking they can't get anything right for cyclists, just you'd have appreciated being warned about it so that you could have left your bike elswhere and explain how jet washing can damage bike parts.
