I really enjoyed the last Action Research Sportive, despite knackering my knee (note to self, accept free massage and the end of the ride next time!).

Looks interesting........i've always done the 50-60 mile rides so keeping in that vein i would go for the 100km ride.

Could you not have a liberal interpretation to a helmet - I think a viking helmet would suit you down to the ground.

I got 20% off the cost and then £15 back from Quidco - brings the cost down to a more reasonable £25.

Just tell them that you are wearing a helmet but only really cool people can see it.

I searched for Action Medical Research and got 30% of the full price back.

Having had a. Quick search, it appears you are right. A shame as £50 for a sportive is a BT on the steep side, albeit with a charity donation.

Well it's this weekend and I M thoroughly looking forward to it.

Not knowing no one else who is riding it, it will be a solo hundred among many other riders.

Hoping to clock a rolling average somewhere over 19mph, traffic permitting.

Ride ridden. Averaged 18.9mph, so not quite the 19+ I was hoping for.

Next ride, hilly hundred next Saturday.
