Thus proving the inability of cat owners to respond to what was written. I suppose it's no surprise if you think that other people should clear up after your pet.
I had a summer job cutting grass. Nothing like a dog/cat turd hiding in the grass whilst your strimming to ruin your day as you end up covered in it. Not to mention the health risk.

It's your garden, if you want it clean, then clean it up yourself. Cats are animals, you can train them only so much.

I suggested this might happen in the mods forum as historically a number of pet threads have ended up with anti/pro camps slugging it out with each other to the point where all reference to the OP is lost and we have to close the thread.

I'd prefer that not to happen if possible, so please be respectful and understanding - both sides.

Thanks,
Shaun

Your cat, your responsibility. If you can't train it to use a litter tray, then it's up to you to remove its poo from your neighbours' gardens.

Getting back to the OP: I assume you wouldn't mind your neighbours flinging cat turds back over your fence?

flinging my cats poo over back over my fence fine. not a problem
Hurting my cat, spraying it with whatever, or setting other animals on it would not sit well with me.

and unfortunately it would end up with me doing the same (but probably worse) to my neighbour....

My neighbours are really nice people, who, like a lot of really nice people, also keep cats. My kitten craps in their garden is no more a problem then their two cats crapping in my garden. We both are grown up adults and accept that shoot happens, and move on. No point being a crybaby over it and flinging the teddy(or the crap) out of the pram.

Do you really want your neighbours popping in and out of your garden whenever they feel like it?

There should be the same rules for cats as for dogs. They shouldn't be able to roam...walk them on leads and only let them off if they recall. Carry cat sh!t bags and pick up after them. Had this argument with people before and got back the 'cats need to roam, it's in their nature'. Right so let's let our dogs run in packs as that is their nature. Unless you can follow your cat round wiyh a shovel....keep it in. You can't have one rule for one and one for another. And yes before you say it...cats wandering round are a total menace!! I have nothing personal against cats but if it is brain dead enoigh to come in my garden when I have a dog then it takes its chance. Way of the world.

to change this a little, i don't have an issue with cats dropping mines. my issues are with some male cats marking.
LOTS AND LOTS of marking.
next door has a nice tom called sootie, he's a soft cat but likes to make sure his territory is well marked, well in the end this is going to happen. the problem is that 2 doors down just took in a load of rescue cats, 2 males who are having a hard time adjusting, there is also a young male from a local area that i can only assume thinks my garden is "cool for cats" and hangs around also. none of these cats are neutered and my garden really, really smells.
i can't let my kids play in it anymore its that bad.
do i just accept that Sh*t happens here?

These are the only thing that I've known to work, but you will spend a fortune in batteries, particularly if like me you need more than one to cover the whole garden.

I can't believe my debut post is about cat sh*t.

Been moaning about the same thing for the past few weeks and the final straw was when mowing the lawn last weekend and going over a few piles of crap and the smell making me heave :cursing:.

Popped over to Mum & Dad's and Dad had taken advantage of pensioners day at B&Q to buy me one of these

It's been in place for a week now and no more piles of crap on the lawn!!!

Early days but seems to work nicely

It's quite amusing how the format of many of the sentiments being expressed in this thread are almost identical to those we see from car drivers who hate cyclists....

Luckily for you all, my cat's an indoor cat (top-floor flat, so no way she can get in and out easily unless I can train her to scale sheer walls and open a window).

But back to the OP - if you find any cat turds in your garden, just toss them back over into the neighbour's garden and hope it was their cat that left them.
