I used to have a cheap deal with Eurosport but they didn't remind me to update my details when a payment was declined after I got a new bank card. My sub lapsed and they refused to honour the old annual deal. After that I started paying monthly just for the Spring Classics, Giro and a few other big races. I watched the TdF and Vuelta on ITV4.

£19.99 is less than I was paying for my 4 or 5 individual months worth of subs. I took advantage of the offer - that will be my Christmas present from my stepdaughter.

Cheers! :okay:

I was trying to test my new subscription on my Samsung Smart TV - it doesn't work. I got an error message about my internet connection but I know it is fine. YouTube, NetFlix etc. still work perfectly on the TV.

I searched the help pages on the Eurosport Player website and it says that the TV apps have now been disabled. It would have been nice to be able to watch on the TV but it isn't a big problem for me - I can still use my laptop, tablet or phone.

You could maybe try a Chromecast. I know it's doubling up expense and abilities to view TV but it is a handy wee accessory to the back of your Samsung. Add it to your Christmas list.

Thanks for the heads-up Turdus philomelos :okay:
No more faffing about trying to find a dodgy stream. Sadly I don't have a smart TV but I'll connect the iPad to the TV and watch it that way

I binned my subscription a couple of months ago, only used it for cycling and can get free coverage online via cricfree. No smart TV or I may have been tempted.

I had the annual subscription and cancelled it mid term because of this. They are no longer supporting teh Samsung TV app and told me I could still watch it on my PC or phone... which of course isn't what I wanted to do, so on that basis I stopped the payments and jacked....

There's plenty of places I can watch the same content for free on the net using my FireTV and Kodi but I wanted to support them, they didn't help themselves here though!

The website - when I looked - was very vague on how to actually watch it. The answer for me seems to be "unsatisfactorily' as neither the tablet nor my laptop have an HDMI out (the laptop has DisplayPort - remember that?) It's a shame as I don't lack for devices that could run an app - if there was an app for the Now box or the TV I'd be tempted. As it is, I'll use ITV4 for the highlights.

Oh, I had forgotten that my devices can do that! My phone and tablet certainly can, and I suspect that my laptop can too. The TV supports it without a dongle.

The tablet has choppy video when showing Eurosport Player itself. I never quite got to the source of the problem. It used to be ok, then it started happening, then ok again, now choppy again!

The laptop has a very good picture quality and the player works well on it so I definitely have at least one good way to view it.

Thanks, looks like a good deal.

Does the Eurosport player work like the iPlayer/ITV Player and allow you to watch programs from the last 7 days or so? Or does it just stream the Eurosport channels live?

If I can pick and choose when I watch I'll definitely sign up for my fill of cycling, tennis and WSBK as my problem is I'm rarely around to watch them live.

To be honest I'm not sure. I know they repeat a lot of stuff. With regards to cycling, they do edited highlights of Grand Tours which is repeated a few times prior to the next days stage

They have a 'Videos' section which works like that. For example, the Amsterdam 6 Day track meeting is currently on there, about 2.5 hours worth for each day of the event.

I should tell you that very occasionally they seem to forget to put a stage or a race in there. It's really annoying when it happens but it is pretty rare.

Another thing you can do is to wind the 'live' stream back up to 3 hours. That is really handy if you are busy when streaming starts but are free within 3 hours of that time.
