Update, most flights to somewhere warm over easter were well expensive. Just checked again now and to Nimes with ryanair for two people and a bike is £291 return. Not bad at all! The train was going to cost around 232euro per person down to the South then the bike issue. hmmm

Nimes is a decent airport in that the baggage is cared for and you can wait outside the terminal to keep an eye on your pride and joy. Having said that....we had a five hour delay because Ryannair couldn't find anybody to change a lightbulb on the plane. Good luck!

loco was well expensive. in the end I booked the trip with each of the companies separately. So Eurostar to Paris then SNCF on TVG down to Provence. Eurostar wanted £30 each way to book a place for bike box. Easy to do. Their offices close at 11pm so as last train in, might have to pick bike up next day. SNCF, spoke to them on phone, no need to book a place! Not sure where it will go, but they said it was no problem.

Thanks for the Nimes info, it ended up being too expensive with them when we added bags.
