They've agreed to host in Europe if they win... now, which cities have most Australians...?
I got in and turned the telly on for the last 30 seconds of scoring. Not knowing the voting system it looked like Oz had romped away with it. For a moment my joy at next years ESC coming from Sydney Opera House was unbounded.

Instead, it will be coming from a bomb crater in central Kiev. Sorry to disappoint.

Yes it is so naff it is almost good!

I just wish Graham Norton wasn't so Brexitly cynical with his comments. I realise this follows in Sir Terry's tradition but it does make UK seem a bit of a miserable git. Perhaps we get what we deserve in terms of the folk of other EU countries being unwilling to vote for us

Ha! Second-time host Petra was also being quite cynically comical last night and it doesn't seem to be holding Sweden back!

She was making fun of Eurovision which is fair game. Norton was making fun of contestants and the little films displaying the countries' culture which isn't. Not my thing although I appreciate some viewers may find belittling others amusing

Petra did have a few naughty words to say at the expense of some of the jury spokespeople... but I'd agree that Norton crosses the line more often than Wogan ever did.

I thought Italy might do it, but I did have Ukraine as my dark horse - should have stuck a couple of quid on her.

Apparently the Russian entry was the pre-race favourite - we thought it was poor. The graphics were great, but it was perhaps a bit of a distraction from the song's weakness.
