Anybody used there finance through V12. I cant see where you can increase your deposit anywhere and I went right up to the decision stage then pulled back. There is nothing anywhere to state that you can increase your deposit more than the fixed 10%. I spoke to Evans webchat but they did not fill me with confidence by advising that once I get the documents through by email I can select to increase my deposit. I dont feel comfortable clicking to proceed and accept the loan agreement before I can then change my deposit amount or that I trust this will actually happen. These are the comments from the Evans operator who first confirmed one thing then changed it ?

I can confirm that if you are wanting to change the deposit more than 10% this will need to be done in store, over the phone or over this chat

I've bought from another seller using V12 and was always given the option when filling in my details to increase right up to half the cost of the item so it's definitely possible.

Perhaps they will redirect you to V12's site to complete the application and that's where you will be able to do it??

So having phoned them it seems wanting to pay a larger deposit is alien to them. You cannot increase your deposit when ordering online. You either have to go into the store or call them. I guess its just me but I dont want to have to go into the store or wait on the telephone I want to do it online.

Yeah I know get over it !

I have a question. Is this interest free credit? If it is then why would you possibly want to pay more deposit?

I am not a credit user in general but recently bought a £1.4k bike from wiggle and decided to use the V12 interest free credit. I could have paid outright, the cash is just wallowing in a bank account earning negligible interest but I figured it was better in my account rather than theirs.

Sorry this doesn't answer your question but if it is interest free then why not pay the minimum and squirrel the rest away until needed?

No its not interest free which is another reason to look elsewhere for my bike as I now see Wheelbase & Tredz are offering better finance packages. They dont do the bike I decided on but oh well.

Shame it's only Evans that have the bike you're after. I highly recommend these folks. Had two bikes from them, one of which was on credit. Not even any need for paperwork as you just esign the document. http://www.sunsetmtb.co.uk/

Best deal is usually to rock up and pay cash but not always. My purchase was reduced from £2k for a bike I had been lusting after for almost 2yrs. It was nearly time for the next model year to be launched so the £600 discount was nice, the interest free credit was just the icing on the cake.
You are right to look for a better deal or maybe wait until you can afford an outright purchase?
