Hi all
A newbie here from Newport in South Wales. Just picked up for my first serious bike yesterday. A 2nd hand Specialized Allez. Need to choose some pedals now but don't really know where to start. I don't want clip ons. Guess i'll take a look up the local shop and see what they have unless someone can suggest something that might suit? I hope I can bring something to the forum as well as taking.

Ive just realised I live in a city with an awesome new Velodrome. Checked their website and they have beginners sessions regularly. Gonna join up and give it a go. Get myself fitter before I hit the roads I think.

Hi Mike - toe clips/straps are the best way to start as clip ins/ons are a natural development from there. It's also a lot cheaper.
