I don't think it actually matters.
I have Goretex trousers (PacLite), but my 3/4 lngth waterproofs are Event because they are what I wanted.
Equally I use Goretex, Nikwax Analogy, EVent and Techpore jackets. Again the use and cut where a deciding factor rather than the material.
Most of these modern fabrics will work adeqautely.
