Just before the May bank hol I was riding to work with my 18yo son along Grange Road in Cambridge. A Scottish Southern Electric van coming the other way pulled onto my side of the road and into the cycle lane/pavement on my side.
I clipped his mirror with my shoulder and the next thing I knew was that I was having "cooking funt" yelled at me. I pulled up and waited for my son. I decided as he was here with me I'd just keep going instead of going back for a bust up.
Once at work I emailed SSE. Late last week I received an apology from them and was told that they would send me a gift.
Today I received £25 worth of shopping vouchers.
The van driver was an arse, but the customer service policy is really quite refreshing.... Or is it a cheap way to head me off at the pass?
