I live in the States, but I can't recall drinking Bud light, when I could drink.
Ye Gods! Did you really drink so much of that filth that you can't remember?

It may be a cracking pint but I just couldn't buy it, what with that superfluous "s"
Assuming it's made by a chap called Banks, there's nothing superfluous about the second s.

Can't be bothered to count, but I might have had a dozen or so of those. Like others, I smirked at Bud Light.... before noticing the Carling. God help us.

I can remember 16. Most are nothing to write home about. Popular doesn't mean best. VB in Austalia is no better thsn Carling.

.....yep, some of them look familiar, but shamefully not all. Maybe I must do a round the world trip to complete my I-Spy book of beers

One weird one I encountered in Penang (Malaysia) was 'Foreign Extra' Guinness at 8% Alc. If you were blindfolded and asked to guess, doubt you would say 'Guinness'....and after a few, doubt you'd say much in any case:cheers:

OK, OK, I accept the second "s", but it still doth offend my eyes

In any case, I won't be buying it cos it's dark mild and that's a proper old man's drink made from the beer tray slops and that's a fact

I think mild is underrated - I can remember drinking it as a tasty alternative to a lot of the bland rubbish that was around in the '90s, with the added advantage of cheapness, and making one slightly less likely to wake up with a thumping headache the next day.

Like everything else, its alcohol content has crept up - a 3.5% mild would have raised eyebrows back then.

Hook Norton used to brew a mild and sell it in small bottles years ago, it was lovely stuff. They've had a stronger mild on draught recently. I mentioned the bottled stuff to the their top man a while back but I think it was before his time. Any road up they've just reintroduced it and I'm taking full credit for this.

I've had milds that pee all over some of the "Golds" that seem to be the current session darlings though, taste wise - I think the article's thrust that milds are lacking flavour (and so, their demise) is a bit flawed.

Agree and the article appears to be based largely on the fact that Robinson's are going to stop producing their mild which hardly seems definitive.

Only last night, I was at a pub which had a Dutch-brewed mild on tap: 3,5% and pretty tasty, if a bit murky.
