Are we sure it ends today? Today might just be the start of the end of the world, the buggers might just want us to suffer a bit first.

The poor old Mayan calendar maker probably had to make several copies of his calendar by hand and after laboriously drafting many centuries he finally got fed up at 21st December 2012. What difference did it make to him whether he stopped in 2012 or 2020, he wasn’t going to live that long anyway. He probably also made a mistake round about the year 2000 like all the computer software manufacturers when they forgot to add an extra leap day, so rather than trying to fix 12 years of mistakes by hand (don’t forget, Tipex wasn’t even invented then) he just lost patience and went down the pub for a pint with his mates. Anyway, I’m still going to remain hidden away under the stairs for a little while longer - just in case.
