on my 50km ride today i came across a chap on a recumbent trike who, despite a range of disabilities, was riding from aberdeen to london.

Wow. Respect for that man. I am amazed by how much spirit people have, spirit that can overcome the worst difficulties.

I agree with him that the word 'disabled' is, at best, misleading, and, at worst, wrong. Disabled people can and frequently do things (like Max with his cycle) that I've never done and might never do or be able to do.
