A piece of flint managed to get stuck in the tyre on my Thursday ride. Luckily it seemed to be a slow p**cture as I didn't even notice until this morning when I went to get the bike out.

The first of 2010... could it possible be the last too?

Bad luck, but last of the year? I think that might be a touch optimistic.

I finished the year with quite a spree after months with nada

Granted most were due to a disastrous experiment with a lightweight tyre, but also to the London roads being full of crap

I most certainly don't gutter hug at all, very far from it, if you don't ride in London you know nothing about the amount of debris lying in the road I suggest

I forget already but it was a lightweight race type tyre that I scrounged up because i couldn't afford a new tyre for a while, it flatted every 20 miles on average, plain rubber with no belt at all I think

there's a world of tyres between a M+ and that tyre

Why can't you get better tyres?

DO you like fixing punctures as a hobby?

alright then, almost every one was in rapid sucession with a lightweight tyre

as for better, I use a fairly lightweight fast and cheap tyre, that's fine other than I tend to leave them a bit too long before changng them

Yes.Do you check your tyres for cuts and stuff?

I tend to as much as I can now.

not really, I'm rather a get on and ride and then get off type, I promise I don't grumble about flats' overly
