Yes, they have made some rule changes to prevent such long races, theoretically before it was possible to have an 8 hour race.

For the difference live coverage makes BBC coverage for all the races will be fine.... I used to record them to watch at a time to suit me anyway....

Who actually wants to get up at stupid o'clock in the morning to watch the SKY live races anyway? Ridiculous! ....
