FA Cup draw sets up match of the Century

This surely is it. Forget Milan v. Inter or Rangers v. Celtic. Everton v. Liverpool fades in to insignificance. This will be football as morality play. The entire nation other than a few lost souls from Milton Keynes will want to see AFC Wimbledon stuff the people that stole a football club. To quopte from the AFC Wimbledon website.........

Depending on the outcome of two replays, we have been drawn against Milton Keynes in the FA Cup 2nd round to be played on 27 November.

Most people know the way that Milton Keynes obtained their football club. It was wrong then and it is still wrong now, which makes this fixture very painful for us. However, when we entered the FA Cup we understood that this might happen and we will go about our business professionally and complete the fixture. But we would have preferred that it hadn’t happened. We have no further comment to make at the moment.

Fate, if that is what it is, is a funny thing. A work mate is a big AFC fan so he, will be like yourself will be enthusiastic about that tie. Barnet on the other hand, should we beat Charlton get a home tie against either Corby or Luton.

You are absolutely right - I am not the slightest bit interested in whether AFC Wimbledon stuff the people that stole a football club, whoever they are, and however they did it, but how on Earth did you know that?

You are absolutely right - I am not the slightest bit interested in whether AFC Wimbledon stuff the people that stole a football club, whoever they are, and however they did it, but how on Earth did you know that?

For me too.
Grew up in Wimbledon most of my life.
My first paid football match was at Plough Lane in an FA Cup game in 1974 before becoming a glory hunter and switching to the mighty Blues.
And calling myself a real supporter of football I absolutely detested the way club was hijacked and moved.

I dislike it intensely when local clubs are bought out by corporate people for the benefit of their own pocket, and I'd have thought that most people, football fans or not, would love to see AFC wipe MK Dons off the map - almost literally!

What a depressing experience it must have been sat in a souless ground, not even your own, far too large for you, skint and on the way to freefall through the leagues.

As a season ticket holder when Wimbledon played at Selhurst Park, the ground really wasn't that oversized for us and as for the club being skint you shouldn't believe all the stuff you read in the papers. Most of the cr*p in the papers was fed by the PR - paid for by the people who wanted the move to go ahead. The club pretty much always made a loss at the gate but made a profit by developing and selling players.
