A few years ago, Gerry came to Bristol as a guest of the Festival of Ideas and I was lucky to get him to sign my DVD boxset of the New Captain Scarlet (fantastic update, if you haven't already seen it). Last year, I went to a Gerry Anderson SF convention here in Bristol. While mooching about the bar waiting for a guest talk, I popped into the loo for a pee. I positioned myself at the urinal, not paying much attention to the elderly gentleman next to me. I then realised it was Gerry himself. Not many of my generation (a 60's child) who grew up with his shows can say they urinated in his company .

The same weekend, I also got to meet David Graham (Parker & Brains) and Matt Zimmerman (Alan Tracy). It's good to meet your childhood heroes sometimes, but it does make you feel old....
