I quite lost the love this afternoon coming home from work in 2c sleet.. All the school kids and dopey parents were in the way and it was all a bit RARRRRRRRR.
I'm sure it'll be better tomorrow though.

All the fair weather commuters were in their cars this evening ... which were all static in a massive traffic jam across the centre of Leeds.
Me? ... I was on the MTB ... ploughing through the slush and around the stationary cars

I became one at the begining of Feb. I will not cycle in the frost. A friend came down due to black ice two weekends ago whilst out cycling with his wife. Broken shoulder, hip and leg FFS. 
Six weeks in a wheelchair as he can't use a crutch. I lost my cycling mojo for a while. Hope to be back on the bike tomorrow. Stay safe everyone.

i got up this morning ,put my thermal leggings on and my spds ,opened the curtains ,and decided id take the car 
it was a total white out and it snowed most of the day turning to sleet/rain ,i made a promise to myself that im gona use the bike more this yr but il not cycle in snow and poss ice ,it was 0 degrees so potential for ice (and there was snow lying so i took the safer option

Glad I haven't, it took a colleague 2 hours to get home today but my bike and I managed in less than 30 minutes, despite being a bit slippery. That's an hour and a half to preen and gloat while nursing a couple of pints in his absence. Priceless.

I've been trying to be a fair weather cyclist but the weather keeps catching me out, I've got a car now so if its raining in the morning I'll take the car, unfortunately I've been caught out several times recently, dry mornings then p****** down at home time.

The last few days the rain has got to me a bit; I've thougght about how nice it would be to be a fair weather cyclist. I then think about how expensive cars are and how much I hate driving & soon remember I'd much rather be a wet cyclist than a miserable motorist.
