Any thoughts/opinions? Still unsure to what model Falcon this is, if anyone has any idea please do share! I was told it was built in the 70's.

Good choice of bike! Nice job.

Thanks, I've been enjoying reading about your Falcon build also! I'm actually wondering if my Falcon could also be a Team Equipe (but missing chrome forks an had a respray? A respray is likely as the white paint it came in was not of a great quality and there were also brush marks visible). The butting is very similar and my bike came with a 453 tubing sticker on it but obviously it is not necessarily the original sticker! Have emailed Falcon cycles and still awaiting a reply.

Also I notice you went for the brown Charge saddle too? Good choice!

Turns out that was the worst bar tape in the world and managed to unravel itself over night, replaced it with some matching charge tape.

Yeah, I nicked it off my Orange! It's great.

Let me know what you find out from Falcon. If it helps I'll let you know my frame number; I need to write it down anyway...

personally, i think it will look better with a rear brake, so a cable will fill up the cable holders. white outers would look nice.

I was contemplating knocking/sawing the cable guides on the top tube off. I was also considering a rear brake however I've read in a few places that there is not much need for a rear brake if you apply the back pressure technique along with the front brake (eg: Sheldon Brown: http://www.sheldonbrown.com/fixed.html).

Also wanted to keep the bike as simple as possible but I do understand your point, those brake guides are pretty dam ugly!

Still waiting to hear back, the lady from Falcon that I've been speaking to says that the 2 members of the team who she would usually ask have jetted off to Thailand for a couple of weeks!

I'm not that familiar with frame numbers and their particular uses, but I assume if you're offering it could be of some use?! If so that would be great. Thanks

Depends how good your knees are!
I get a real pain deep in my knees if I put too much back pressure on with my fixed.
