It's only a month or so until the autumn leaves turn to brown slime and make cyclepaths slippery. One of my few crashes was because of leaves - a big dog ran in front of me, I braked, and the front wheel just washed out.

It gets a bit tricky in the woods when the forest floor gets covered with the leaves. They can surprise you when there wet or dry and add some hidden roots and rocks and it makes for a fun adventure.

Horse Chesnut shells and acorns on all the trails i was riding today... a bit like riding on marbles.... all part of the fun.... plus pheasants suddenly running across the trail... never hit one though :eek:

I've had a close call with a deer many years ago on the trails.
