Family History and cycling

I have done a lot of family history research and I have a website
(http://www.cotswan.com for those who are interested)
I find myself drawn to cycle round many of these places

I live in Surrey and as well as Egham and Chertsey which are on my doorstep, I have ancestor who lived in Godalming, Dorking, Ockley, and today covered a few more, Puttenham Wanborough
I have visited many by car, but even though I do not particularly look at the locations, I like to visit again

Also Winkfield and Warfield in Berks are near enough to cycle to

If I really wanted to continue in this vein, I would have to cycle Herefordshire, Northants, Huntingdonshire, and on Mum's side Cheshire Lancs borders, and round Holmfirth (hmm... would have to do Holme Moss!)

Anyone else do this sort of thing?

I haven't but have always harboured a desire to cycle round the south coast for a week but thats another story.
Your link mentions Harringworth, Oundle, Elton, Benefield, Alwalton...all villages on my route (well, when I was cycling seriously).
I love it out Oundle and Harringworth way, lovely countryide, rolling hills that make you work but dont murder you. Harringworth has a spectacular viaduct and Oundle is a lovely small town, albeit expensive to take tea and cake on a ride. Red Kite are very common, there are woods near Harringworth where they nest prolifically im told.

Elton / Alwalton are maybe 3 miles apart and while there's nothing spectacular about either, its nice countryside out there.

If I ever get around to doing the Lap the Lough ride one day it would take in quite a few of the locations I think, with a few detours.
