I have some tenn normal shorts and they are fine , i had to go a size up to get a good fit but i have that problem with most of the brands i have ever tried, i have a well tuned large glutues maximus that means i need to go a size bigger for room 
Now i shop at decathlon , well worth the round trip as i am able to try them on and they are competitively priced and fit .

I'm sure they're decent shorts, but you usually get what you pay for. They're cheap cos they're nothing special. I don't spend a fortune on shorts cos I shop around and buy them in sales, but have some very good shorts by Santini and Craft that only cost £40 each. I'd rather have one or two pairs of really good shorts than half a dozen cheapos like those.

i have done 40 + miles in a pair and they were ok, certainly no chaffing and not sore.
For commuting its only 10 miles each way , the drawer had 7 pairs of shorts in it as a busy household the concept of wash and wear is not an option, kit gets washed when the basket is full along with the kids clothes etc etc .Sometimes good pricing and practicality outweigh the joys of running just a couple of pairs of shorts .
