It will be the first day to really see what his legs are like, the two road stages so far weren't really for the "pure fast men" Mad Mads is a bit like Sagan in that he can get over the lumpy stuff.

No change at either end, other than I'm even further adrift and I think Shadow has moved up to second. I do note however that after years of searching we've located Donald's troosers, so that's something...

watching the highlights, him and Affini came from quite a way back in the last 3km and got into a lovely position and then Kooij slipped off Affini's wheel and then found himself in a poor place, almost rescued it by switching sides and coming round everyone, but just too late, so I think he has some legs but tactically/ luckwise didn't get it right yesterday.
Not sure today in Matera will suit him - Lidl will up the pace too much on the late climbs. Napoli will be a good chance for him though
