In an age when pro footballers spend half the game falling over and rolling around it is sadly time to remember a man who could carry on with a broken neck. Quite a life.

Sad news. There was a really good programme on him a few years ago and not knowing anything about him it was amazing to watch. Great bloke.

Very sad indeed. Bert was someone whose life was so much more than just a football story.

If it hadn't been for my mum's firm views, I'd have been called Colin Bernhard Denis McBollo (City fans of a certain age will know where the other two come from)
