I did this ride today and it was great! A small local event in aid of local schools. A variety of distances (16, 25, 50, 75). Rubbish weather!
I did the 25 miler with my son who rode my road bike, leaving me and my tourer in the dust! It was a total joy to see him fly up hills and wait patiently at the top! It was also highly amusing watching him raid the clif bars at the aid stations like he needed the energy!! The route was hilly and pretty. Medals at the end which was unnecessary but made my son’s day!
Lovely mix of participants! Rapha boys, people on hybrids and mountain bikes, one hand-cranked recumbent, plenty of children and someone towing a trailer with a dog inside!
