Had a pair of Mavic sealed bearing hubs a good while back .Top qaulity . I Still have Mavic sprint rims on my Hetchin and the gold anodized model on a Kirk together with a Mavic chainset . Another pair of old Red ladel (700c) waiting to be built .

Thanks for that @woodbutchmaster, a great read. It is a pity Mavic are no longer a major player, it would be nice to have a bit more choice with components.

It's a sad story basically they have been bought and sold on their past reputation and the bones have been picked clean,

On my continuing search for Mavic components or memorable items recently found a couple of books here in France. One called Le sang jaune (yellow blood) and apparently Mavic got its colours because the founder Bruno Gormand asked a tv cameraman which colours stand out the most on tv and he was told yellow and black !
The other is called Au coeur du vélo ( At the heart of cycling)

When Boardman coined the Secret Squirrel Club at British Cycling I always wondered if it was a little nod to Mavic SSC

Here l go again, just recently acquired a set of callipers ( Modolo) can't think why
