Well, after recently obtaining my camera setup (yay!) I have managed to fasten it to my helmet (careful, Fnaar) and align it correctly, and to get some video for you all to pull my riding apart on!!:biggrin::biggrin:

Just a quick snippet of today's commute with the only worthy piece of numptiness by a taxi driver (although I'm sure I'll be suitably admonished/imilarly named too ) making the cut for this thread.

I'll fess up now though, I knew the taxi driver and paid him to drive like that. I also placed all the cars in their respective positions and got their full co-operation to assist with the choreography... see what you think.

Apologies in advance for the slightly fruity language.:laugh:

Aww lovely to see Manchester at it's best, was that this morning? very brave of you to venture out, was like a monsoon this morning here in N manchester.

Honestly I think he saw you, typical taxi driver just didn't care.

Great video BTW, what's the set up?

Don't think I would cycle like that sorry.Nice fast looked dodgy to me and I certainly wouldn't do it in London.

Would get a ped coming from nowhere/something pulling out possibly plus im not comfortable with that cycling like that at speed with cars coming the other way on a wet road which may mean that in a dodgy situation may mean you would have to slam the anchors on and possibly skid.

It looked a bot wet to me.

The car sort of like pulled out from the turning although I can't really see the problem with that apart from the fact he delayed you.

You called him a name the proceeded to get caught at the next set of lights of which I was glad to see you stop at.

If im aware of the next set are going to stop me then I slacken off.

This behaviour is something we all encounter from motorists all the time.A dodgy overtake and then stopped at the next set of lights.

No way is this post meant to criticise your cycling but is actually based on my cycling and how I try to ride to the conditions of my commute.

I'll be interested to see what people pick up from this video. So who can spot where sh4rkybloke has been a bit naughty!?

What do you think of the HQ1 set up?

Filtering at speed?

Nope. He did something that could have lead to a fixed penalty.

It was a tad damp, nothing too bad though on the main drag.

True, it's just there was no need for him to exit the junction at that point - there was no traffic coming so he could have waited (as he would have done for a car) until I'd passed. I was starting to ease off for the lights, but he made me have to brake much more harshly than I would have done had he not been there.

Overtaking at a ped crossing, Hackers.

Indeedy. And I quote:

Overtaking a moving or stationary vehicle on a zebra, pelican or puffin crossing contrary to regulation 24 of the Zebra, Pelican and Puffin Pedestrian Crossings Regulations and General Directions 1997

You've got to be whiter than white sharky, tsk, tsk!

Seriously, I would not have filtered like that and you probably shouldn't have sat on the right hand side of his taxi after his turn. Just playing devils advocate!

Excellent - really pleased with it. Looks pretty clear even on YouTube (in HQ).
