Faster Than The Speed of Sound

My road bike fastest was 48 mph on a fully loaded Allez (tent/sleeping bag, the works) steep downhill just coming into Melton Mowbray. I've only seen 40 on the trike (my commute's pretty flat) but I can hold 30 on the flat for a good mile. I'm pretty sure I completely smashed 50 on a steeeep hill on the Baron. Unconfirmed though as the speedo is near my groin and I didn't dare take my eyes off the road.

Not a fastest speed post here, just the fact that on my way home this evening i spotted a lad on a road bike up ahead who looked like he was out for a pootle in his baggy shorts and hoodie. So the road i normally do 15 mph along saw me hitting 23 mph and i got to within a few yards and he heard my noisy gear change and the kid sped up. I could have caught him of course, but i'd been on my feet all day blah, blah...i really need to grow up.
