A couple of us went out for a lunchtime ride today from work, simple 16 mile circuit we've done several times before. The 'out' leg was into wind, not that there was much, the sun was shining and it was glorious, but it felt bloody hard work, my legs really felt empty. Whether that was because I've done two back-to-back swim sessions this week, or as a result of the physio/stretching I've been doing on my legs I don't know, but it felt really hard work.
Since we tend to use the Cyclemeter app on most rides, when I got back to the office we compared the split times against previous rides and found it was the fastest run to date!
Seems to back up Steve_H's question about whether the sun makes you go faster, something did thats for sure!
