Because of course the law is the same in every country in the world isn't it?
The reason why papers in this country word things has been told to you. It is not a theory, but is fact. Clearly, you are a better journalist than all those writing such articles and are obviously a better lawyer than those advising the media on the law.
It must be a loss to the law and to journalism that you are not writing all media articles and sitting in judgement on all legal cases
However, if you'd rather besmirch the sad death of another cyclist by petty nonsensical arguments re semantics, then carry on. I'm sure arguing over what you think the media should print will save this cyclist and others as well from death or serious injury on the roads.
I'm out of this thread with a thought for the sad loss of another cyclist on our roads.
