It would be kinda nice if it was returned there afterwards for others pedalling past - it's where I got it from myself.

A good book - also interesting for non pro cycling types (me) as it also paints a picture of another Italy.

yes, though maybe not surprising in view of Italy at the time - imprisoning women for adultery, the Pope getting involved in your private life through intermediaries ....

It really was a different time - the state of the roads for instance - I can't see today's carbon fibre wonders lasting long on those.
