Favorite Ride

Ok, while out out on my jaunts i have developed a sick sense of wanting to cycle over the M3 on my favorite off road route just to see how bad the traffic is through the road works.
One it makes you glad your not stuck in it and 2 it makes me feel alive just to be out on the bike traffic free.
Anyone else got any strange ones.

I like to do the same over the A55 on Bank holiday weekends. Love seeing the traffic jams and the frustrated faces behind the wheel.

I used to enjoy riding over the M5 on Wick Road Hewish on summer Saturdays for similar reasons. I can't see as far when we ride under the A47 on NCR1 and it's not worth riding over the industrial estate junction just for that

There's a couple of small descents onto the edge of the fens that I really like. NCR 11 from Downham Market to Wimbotsham, for example. They're not long but I think there's something stunning about seeing the fen extending out for miles ahead of you.

Any of the small roads over the North Norfolk coastal ridge where you get to see the sea for the first time on a ride... they're pretty special too. And there are a few small woodland roads scattered among the vast farmland fields but I often forget exactly where they are, so they come as a pleasant surprise most times.

I have a 12mile route that gets incorporated into all my rides whatever direction or distance i do. It takes me along the seafront from Kingsdown, along the ancient highway to Sandwich and back through the country lanes. I like to see the sea everyday as it's only just over a mile from my front door.

I've got a 180 miler that incorporates 14 miles of the A34. I shouldn't like that, but I do.

I have raced on the a34 many times, albeit back in the late 80`s early 90`s It was bad enough then . Lol

Every evening 2 year old Smallest Boy and I go over a bridge over the M1, which is usually full of almost stationary traffic trying to get out of London. We like to give the drivers a wave as we do.
