I have an interview next week for a role as Head of IT Delivery with a small public sector organisation. I currently work for a very large public sector organisation and so I'm hoping at interview to compare relative IT spend £/head.

Without breaking any confidentiality agreements, I'd like some ideas of what the spend is in other organisations private and public to aid in my comparison.

Without seeming ungrateful, I'm not planning on this thread going to pages 5-10 examples will be great.

Thanks in advance.

What scale are we talking? 25,000 employees or 125,000 employees?

I'm looking at per head so all examples welcome. To help with reference points I'll be leaving a 27,000 user base and going to one of <1000.

Ah well, I'd expect a big difference per head for different scale operations and different industries - I would recommend apples for apples figures.

I might have some numbers from FTSE businesses around the 25K mark.

Thanks. I'm looking for that big difference. My intellect tells me that the per head spend in my current organisation will be lower than for a smaller organisation (economies of scale, buying power etc) but for some reason my gut instinct is telling me that's not going to be the case hence the ask for comparisons.

It may be I learn nothing and that per head spends are all over the place but I'll have at least learned that.

Do you have access to Gartner research material?

I'm retired now, but my head of it used them regularly for this sort of question.
Hadn't thought of that. Thanks. I used to have access in my previous role, will check if that access still works and if current place has a corporate membership.
