I'm sure Mr Lewie beleives that it's a protest song, but I'm sure he doesnt begrudge the royalties he gets every year either.

from the TV interviews with him that i have seen, it was out of his hands when it was released and he wasn't a happy bunny about it. it must be the least christmassy christmas song ever

I think Pace is a universal Christmas theme. The reason I like the song is probably because it's not in your face about Christmas.

The Greg Lake song reference earlier is not a Chistmas song either, but is respected as being a great song with a Christmas theme.

I got it for christmas once, on tape, and it reminds me of christmas. The tape version is superior because it has Lucifer over Lancashire on it. Unfortunately the format was not sufficiently robust so I no longer have it.

They never play it in Sainsbury's.
