The problem is most beginners play it on the just the lowest string coz that's how their mate/Dad/Uncle showed them.
It drives me bonkers when you show them how to do it properly and they say, nah too hard and continue to play it their way.
I love Purple but along with the white stripes Seven nation army I'd be happy if I never ever heard it again.
