The Dolan is a real beauty.

The only alteration I would make is a conventional brake lever.

Some of those look far too cheesball American FGG with garish wheels etc. Still one or two lovely bikes in there though!

quite a few of them have some sort of tape around the toptube... anyone got any idea what that's all about?

i think its a top tube protector in case the bars swing round and dent the frame, kind of OTT I think and suspect its just a gimmick.

Quite possible if you're riding a bike that has track-style taping and no front brake. More likely just fashion on these bikes!
