Everytime it does a synch with my pod. I'm thinking of ebaying the fecker its so annoying! When the machine reboots it says it has to check the 'consistency' of a disc (i think  and it tells you a whole lot of numbers). Any ideas on how to fix it (no glib answers about getting a mac please ).

Sounds like a driver conflict. What does Windows report in the message you get after the restart?

Its checkin FAT disk no. xxxxxx for consistency. Then it does so and tells you the numbers of bytes in various sectors then it reboots the memory.

I managed to get it to do the full sync after I switched off access to the internet.

Windows should give you an error message separate from the chkdsk report, telling you why it crashed. If switching off net access works (do you mean switching off wifi, or something else?), then that narrows down the driver conflict.

Cool, looks like a conflict between the wireless card driver and the itunes driver. Try updating both.

Eh? You don't need ActiveSync to synchronise an iPod.

Also not sure on what basis you're basing your idea about drive formatting. If everything works fine with wifi switched off, that strongly suggests a conflict with the wireless card driver.

not necessarily . it could be the conflict is being caused by a program trying to download a patch or upgrade or something.
I have to say you do rather have an abrasive and arogant attitude mate. We are all spending our time here trying to help others. No need to monopolise the thread just because you think you are always right about everything.

You need to chill a bit mate

I despise synching.

Its simply a case of opening the My Comp. then the checking out memory card for example rather than a fancy program that usually TAKES AGES to run...
