Set off to the gym this morning, but as it was a nice day I thought I'd cycle the long way to make it a ten miler instead of 1.
Less than a mile in I was finding it tough. I've got a cold, and it was really windy, the combination was making me feel chesty and short of breath.
At what I thought was 3 miles (turns out it was less than2!) I decided to take a short cut across the field - not the best idea after the rain!! I ended up grumpy, pushing the bike, and with wet feet.
Fortunately it's downhill from there on to the gym (4 miles total)
I did get my second wind and managed to work up a sweat inside to make up for it.
Do you ever get days like that, when even the shortest ride feels like a marathon?!
