The first time since I took up cycling four months ago.

I tried bumping up a wee kerb onto some grass to avoid a dog walker in the park and fell over unceremoniously...in installments...onto the grass...in a dog exercise area.

There was only ever going to be one outcome and I inevitably landed in dog sh!t. All over my new Endura shorts, in the seams and all over the tabs at the bottom of the leg

If I had to pick somewhere to fall along my journey it would have been there, minus the turd and minus the dog walker, who had the good grace to ask if I was OK whilst probably pishing herself laughing under her breath. Luckily we have showers at work and I took them in with me and soaped them up.

There are clearly lessons to be learned here.

But the important question - is the bike OK? (And you?)

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I am sorry. I hope you are ok, but it was funny as well. The moral of the story is, be careful where you fall.

Bike is fine as I took the force of the fall but I'm fine thanks, had a soft landing . I was kind of laughing at myself too until I smelt the dog crap. The strange thing is, as you get older you care less what other people say or think so my pride wasn't even slightly dented.

I I am older, but my pride still would have taken a bashing...

I feel for you. Having a few dogs myself, and being the primary caregiver and cleaner of them, I can tell you that no S is wose than dog S. Except maybe Alpaca S. And Alpaca have the good manners enough to all S in the same spot.
