Ok, here is the major hitch:
This was my first road bike, and I managed to crash it - oops. On inspection, one of the carbon fibre seat stays was partially pulled out of where it was lugged to the aluminium frame - at the bottom of the stay, not the top. I have asked around for repairs on this a while ago, and one forummer (not a regular...around 6 posts in total - and I have since deleted the message) quoted £40 (he said he did work on carbon fibre repairs etc and had carried out this very repair on other bikes). So this is very very likely to be repairable, and could still be a bargain overall.
There is also scratching from the crash and also from general useage. See the photos.
