I thought I had found the bike I was gonna buy in the cannondale but after a lil negative feedback iv now started to look towards the felt z7 has anyone had much to do with felt and is the setup on this model superior to the cannondale ? Also is it better to go cheap carbon or stick with better quality alloy ? Plz help not that I wanna sound dumb just don't understand all the driveset and wheels jargon with been relativly new to road cycling

Negative feedback from whom?

Superior how for the Felt? The Cannondale has the best alu frame pretty much, along with the Rose superlight jobs.

What are you looking for from the bike? You need to ride and decide for yourself

Isn't it C2W? So technically it's not £900 (although it's also not for commuting IIRC ;) )

Go to Evans, have some test rides. You know these are racy geometry and not 'endurance' models

Long comfortable rides, look at steel like the Genesis Equilibrium

Cannondale, bad?

CAADS are one of the best frames around, and if anyone says different they are talking bollox.

The only issue has been the BB30, but that was a long time ago and many bike companys are using the bb30 standard now, (BB30 was designed by Cannondale FWW).

I have 2 Cannondales, both are fantastic and i would have no hesitation in buying another.

I read your other thread and I think you have gotten the wrong impression of the Cannondale.

It is a mighty fine bike - the Tektro brakes will work fine and there is nothing wrong with FSA chainsets. If the bike fits you well and you like the ride then buy it.

I'm pretty sure that both the 'dales you mention can handle 70 mile rides!

Re your concern re disc brakes. They are spot-on, they stop in crap weather which is more than can usually be said for most rim brakes.

All year round bike the Synapse Disc 105 (i have one) is great. Its a bit heavier than the CAAD as well.

If you want light, fast and a stunning frame go for the CAAD.

A know a guy with a CAAD8 frame that has full Dura Ace everything on it, Carbon cranks etc, it weights under 7.0kg and rides like a dream. Its cost him over £3k but he reckons its worth every penny.

I've got a caad 10 got it as winter/ second road bike but have done more miles on it this year then my carbon bike. It rides really well. As above get to a Evans and test ride some bikes that's best thing to do

Really interesting that there are a couple of threads running with similar themes.

At this money a good aluminium frame can be much better than a cheap carbon one.

Also interesting the assertions that Cannondale make really good frames.

The spec of the CAAD 8 frame is out dated nowadays.

Rather than repeat have a look at the other Cannondale vs Specialized etc thread.

I've a caad 8 and upgraded components over time ,fulcrum wheels,105 groupset ect,I have other bikes (ribble, which I love aswell) but I allways go back to the cannondale.I.For me it's a great bike,I can be on it all day,and still get off and walk !! Its whatever suits yourself, but remember you've got to "like" your bike aswell if your going to spend a lot of time on it ,and money.
