Are those bits on the inside trying to get out or trying to break in to your haven of peace?
They are mounting a siege of fort Grasb residence from two sides

Repeated football & tennis ball impacts have caused a neighbours UPVC fencing to crack near each of the posts. The aluminium dents locally a little if you hit it REALLY hard with a tennis ball but doesn't put nearly as much stress on the mounting points. If they wreck their side of the fence it doesn't matter to me as it doesn't need to be repaired as the fence is structurally sound & my side is still looking really new

He who has the posts has the fence.

So if you erect a fence with the posts on the other side you are in effect giving your next door neighbour the fence.
They may not appreciate the the gift, as it means they will have to maintain it
The new owner also then has the right to remove it

(As happened to a neighbour of ours many years ago, his neighbour erected a 3 meter Berlin Wall of a corrugated iron fence with the posts on the outside, the land dispute people said he had given the fence to our neighbour, so he could do what he liked with the fence, so he removed it and replaced it with a conventional fence. He gained 6" of garden as well.)
