Phew,
Almost out of my depth last night. My wife's hobby is sewing and it's like cycling - N+1 etc and these things aren't cheap.
Her main sewing machine has not been sewing properly recently, threads not at the correct tension etc. She asked me to look at it a while back. Now, not knowing one end of a sewing machine from another, and the fact that this is a £3.5k machine with electronics and touch screen, you'd back me up for not wanting to touch it. We normally get it serviced by a local (ish) company, but they are incredibly slow, and the last time my wife was without the machine for months (yes months).
So, after a couple of glasses of wine, we decided to remove some covers and get cleaning it out. Hoover out, little brushes and cotton buds. Cleaned and oiled, put back together.
Switch on, and......... clunk rattle rattle. Oh **** !
Remove one cover, machine works, put cover back on and it's fine (cover had to be aligned perfectly - guess who didn't put it on properly
)
Sewing perfectly now ! Brownie point earned !
