I caught a programme last week that followed the local police in a major town...I was wasn't paying full attention but noticed that they were very keen to highlight the use of a new "roadside drugs test" that looked a lot like a pregnancy test, that you lick.
They showed a few drivers being tested and arrested after the stick showed that they were under the influence of either marijuana or cocaine.

I can say that when I travel through London each day, either on the bike or the motorbike, I can detect between 2-5 drivers in the space of a ten mile ride who are very obviously smoking drugs. I can smell the drugs from within around 100 yards. On some journeys, the smell is almost constantly in the air.
this week...I've detected NONE.
