I'm a member. Like CTC, it's worth the insurance alone, imo. There's no need to become involved in any of the politics etc. You can either join through your local club or as a 'membre individuel'.

There are some other benefits too; discounts from some cycle shops, reduced entry fees for some cycle events etc.

Yep, think I will join, it seems to me that they stick to cycle-touring of one shade or another and leave the campaigning and evangelising to others.
