Genuine question. Were either the England or India cricket teams' players wearing a poppy, or was it too early/late for the 'gesture?'
I think Alastair Cook sourced them locally from Afghanistan along with the opium he was taking during his late session captaincy...

Why would Indian players wear a poppy*, every war that has ever been fought was won by people from England, alone and unsupported. You fule.

*This is a genuine question caught in the midst of my usual bollocks.
A quick edit - English men, no women assisted in any way. Ever. The charming things.

To remember their war dead, why else?.

My point, though, was it just the FA who made the decision (although I believe the Home Nations wore shirts with poppies on them in the recent rugby internationals, IIRC), so wondered what the England & Wales Cricket Board's stance on this was.

Is the poppy the Indian symbol of remembrance tho?

As per my post earlier, English men fought and fight wars.

Also, given that civilian casualties have outnumber "forces" casualties by some considerable amount over some considerable time, is it not the case that "people in uniform" should be remembering civilians?
