Figs

I have never seen them for sale in any shops I have frequented until yesterday when I ventured into Aldi for my weekend shop; a pack of 3 for 69p, so decided to buy them. And then realised I had not a clue what to do with them.

But after a quick search on t'internet worked out that there were numerous options, so had them with some greek yoghurt, blackberries, blueberries and honey for my tea.

Very nice.

If I can find them then I'll buy them - I have seen them on TV cookery programmes but never seen them in shops so had not paid attention as to what to do with them, I didnae even know that you could eat the whole fig and had thought it was only the inside.

I bought a fig plant for Mr Summerdays earlier this year, though I think it will be a few years before it's big enough to have figs on.

Fresh figs - REALLY fresh figs, 10 minutes off the tree, picked at the height of their fragrant sweetness ........ just sublime.

If you like the ones you got here, get yourself somewhere a little warmer, in season. I used to have figs 'n feta for breakfast in Egypt. Finest breakfast there is. Damn you, Marmion - my mouth is watering, and that's a 35 year-old memory! :sun:

I had no idea Scotland was so backward. You'd best vote NO, otherwise you'll only have raw oats to eat.
I call you out, my friend;)
We lead the world in haute cuisine such as deep fried mars bars, pizza crunch and other much loved deep fried delights...but sadly we also gave the world that f****ing useless G.Ramsey..
